This is the part where you finally pick the equipment. It's also the part where new engineers think the real work starts, and they've got it backward. By the time you get here, the product told you how it rides and the flow told you where it has to wait, turn, climb, and split. The steel is just how you honor what they already said. So we work in that order. First you learn what a conveyor actually is and what fails in it. Then you make the one call that everything else hangs on: does this point move product or hold it. Then you size the waiting, change direction and elevation, combine flows, sort, and finally step back and ask whether conveyor was even the right tool. Every lesson in this part ends the same way, at the CONTROLS CORNER, because a piece of steel you can't control is a piece of steel you can't design. Get the sequence right and the equipment almost picks itself. Reach for a catalog first and you'll spend the project bending the operation to fit the machine.
You already know the product and the flow. Part IV is the steel.
